The Cathedral of Wee Jas is located in the salubrious Obsidian District. It is easily the largest, most ornate and impressive temple in Cauldron. Its spire is visible over the Cauldron walls. The size and importance of the temple is not so surprising when you consider that historically the founder of Sasserine was a priestess of Wee Jas and that Surubar Spellmason was a patron of the religion.
The temple mostly focuses on two aspects of the Lady of Book and Bone. Firstly in her aspect as the Ruby Sorceress and goddess of magic the temple provides teaching and assistance to arcane practitioners of all persuasion. Secondly as Death's Guardian the temple takes care of any who pass away without a stated religious preference or without making arrangements for the disposal of their remains.
Most bodies are burned but the temple oversees a graveyard on the northern slopes of Cauldron and catacombs below the cathedral. Anyone without stated religious preference who passes away in Cauldron falls under the temple's care.
